LAWRENCE, Kan. -- You can tell by the timestamps on my last two posts that this road trip I'm currently enjoying has really disrupted my sleeping habits. And by disrupted my sleeping habits, I mean I'm not really sleeping anymore.

That's not fun.

But I'd still put my past two nights up against anybody's.

I was at Michigan State-Duke Wednesday night and UCLA-Kansas Thursday night.

So in a span of 24 hours I sat courtside in what I consider to be the two neatest college basketball arenas in the country (Cameron Indoor Stadium and Allen Fieldhouse) and watched four possible Hall of Fame coaches (Tom Izzo, Mike Krzyzewski, Ben Howland and Bill Self) compete in two high-level games. Duke's Kyrie Irving was the story late Wednesday, a questionable call was the story late Thursday. And now I'm just anxious to see what the story will be early Saturday, because I'm getting ready to fly back to North Carolina for this weekend's showdown between Kentucky and North Carolina.

I'll be inside the Dean Smith Center for tipoff.

I won't mind seeing another freshman dominate and be a star.

What I would mind seeing is another referee ruin a good competition.

DURHAM, N.C. -- You know what's worse than walking out of Cameron Indoor at 2:30 a.m.?

Walking out of Cameron Indoor at 2:30 a.m. and not being able to find your rental car for 30 minutes when it's really cold outside. Seriously, that's the most depressed I've been in at least a month. If not for an assist from a campus police officer, I'd probably still be stumbling around looking for my car, hating myself and pretty much everything else in this world. So allow me to offer a big thanks to the Duke campus police. You guys are as important to me as Kyrie Irving is to your basketball team.

You saw Irving, didn't you?

He was tremendous in Duke's 84-79 win over Michigan State.

Next up for him is Saturday's game against Butler.

Next up for me is Thursday's game between UCLA and Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse.

I'm flying there in a few hours.

Gonna try to not lose my car on this portion of the trip.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Memphis coach Josh Pastner secured a commitment from the city's best prospect -- and a certain McDonald's All-American -- for the second straight year when Adonis Thomas announced Thursday that he will play college basketball for his hometown Tigers.

"Coach Pastner and the staff were just great from the beginning," Thomas said. "I love Memphis. … It was just the best place for me."

The Sporting News has ranked Thomas as the No. 1 overall prospect in the Class of 2011, and MaxPreps.com has him No. 3. The 6-foot-6 wing plays at Melrose High in Memphis. He chose the Tigers over UCLA, Florida, Arkansas and Tennessee during a press conference that was carried live by local television stations. It's a development that should allow Pastner to continue to build on the momentum created last year when he signed a class ranked second nationally by Scout.com that was headlined by Joe Jackson, a McDonald's All-American who is, like Thomas, a product of Memphis City Schools.

Thomas is the Tigers' first commitment from the Class of 2011.

National Signing Day is Nov. 10.

UCLA got its first commitment from the Class of 2011 when Norman Powell committed to the Bruins on Sunday.

MaxPreps.com ranks Powell 48th nationally in the Class of 2011.

The 6-foot-2 guard is from San Diego.

He averaged 19.2 points while leading his high school team to a state title last season.

Potential McDonald's All-American Josiah Turner committed to Arizona during a visit to campus this weekend, Scout.com recruiting analysts Dave Telep and Evan Daniels reported Sunday.

"I knew that they would be in my top three [on a list of potential college destinations], but when [I] came on this visit it was crazy,” Turner told Scout.com. "I could have [gone anywhere] on the East Coast, but now my family can come to my games. I just really wanted to be a part of the tradition."

MaxPreps.com has Turner ranked 30th in the Class of 2011.

The 6-foot-3 point guard is from Sacramento.

He reportedly chose the Wildcats over UCLA and Kansas.

Former UCLA center J'Mison Morgan has been granted a transfer waiver request by the NCAA and will be eligible to play at Baylor this season, the school announced Monday.

Morgan is a 6-foot-10 junior from Dallas.

The former top 25recruit averaged 1.9 points and 1.3 rebounds last season for the Bruins. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining and will add depth to a Baylor frontcourt headlined by McDonald's All-American Perry Jones.

Where Class of 2011 standout Adonis Thomas will play college basketball remains unclear.

But this much is certain: He'll be a TV star by the time he arrives on campus.

Melrose High coach Jermaine Johnson told CBSSports.com on Thursday that his Memphis-based program -- headlined by Thomas, a consensus top 10 national recruit -- will be the subject of a reality series scheduled to start shooting next week and air later this year or next year on MTV. According to Johnson, the show will be similar to the wildy popular "Two-A-Days" series MTV did on the Hoover (Ala.) High football team in 2006 -- main difference being that this version, which is yet to be named, will chronicle the lives of innercity minorities trying to repeat as state champions.

"Everybody is so excited," Johnson said. "It's going to be huge."

So what about Thomas and his future?

Johnson said his star prospect still hasn't narrowed his list of potential colleges, that all the schools that have been heavily recruiting the 6-foot-6 wing remain involved -- among them Memphis, Tennessee, Ohio State, Florida, Arkansas, and Kentucky. Truth is, most insiders believe it will be difficult to pry Thomas out of Memphis considering four of his summer teammates (Joe Jackson, Chris Crawford, Jelan Kendrick and Tarik Black) are now freshmen in Josh Pastner's program, but that theory hasn't stopped many from seriously pursuing the likely McDonald's All-American.

Johnson said the latest to make a move is UCLA.

"Ben Howland has been relentless," Johnson said. "He's made Adonis his top target."
