Kentucky's Terrence Jones announced via Twitter on Saturday that he's withdrawing from the NBA Draft and returning to school for his sophomore season.

"I've been enjoying being a college player and plan on striving to reach my goal of winning [UK's eighth national title]," Jones Tweeted.. "I can't leave the [Big Blue Nation] just yet.

Jones averaged 15.7 points and 8.8 rebounds last season while helping the Wildcats make the Final Four. The 6-foot-8 forward was a projected lottery pick but decided to return and play with Darius Miller and a star-studded recruiting class that should have Kentucky ranked no lower than second in every preseason college basketball poll, No. 1 in some.

Underclassmen who have declared for the NBA Draft have until Sunday to withdraw.

Jones returning to Kentucky

There may not be proof of Cal running a dirty program at Kentucky yet, but it takes a lot to get TWO Final Four's vacated.  Cal is just a smarter version of Kelvin Sampson.
Take any Pitt player...do you know for a fact that none has ever accepted an illegal benefit?  Just because Pitt (like many other D1 schools) hasn't make it to a Final Four is a reason that they have not had one vacated for the same offense.  I'm sure you remember 1993 and this NCAA action:

"An illicit recruitment scheme has led to sanctions against the Pittsburgh athletic program,...  The basketball program was stripped of one of its 13 scholarships and three of its expense-paid campus recruiting visits for two years."

Of course many have proclaimed that UCLA players received many more illegal benefits during Wooden's reign, but apparently, the NCAA wasn't looking and Wooden didn't turn them in for it if he knew.  Calipari turned in Camby when he found out about the illegal benefits.

My question...if the head coach is responsible for knowing everything that goes on at their programs...why aren't Wooden, Krzyzewski, Self, Calhoun and Williams held to the same standard?

Check out this link for a someone's list of the dirtiest programs:

Jones returning to Kentucky

For staters it was a joke.
I understand your sarcasm and use it myself to make a point and at the same time rile people.

Look Cal has 2 of his 3 final fours vacated.  Roy has been to 7 final fours and cut down the nets twice. None are vacated.
Just a little correction to your statement.  Calipari has had NO Final Fours vacated.  He's not a member institution of the NCAA.  UMass and Memphis have each had one Final Four vacated while Calipari was the head coach.  SInce these allegations keep get brought up on this board as if they were original thoughts, I'll keep on trying to bring light to the darkness.

UMass had its Final Four vacated becasue a player accepted improper benefits from an agent.  Do you really believe that Calipari advised Camby to take the payments? That would seem to be quite a leap of logic.  Somn say Calipari should have known.  Do you know what your Mom and Dad are doing behing that closed bedroom door?  You may suspicion, but you don't know for sure because you're not welded to their side 24/7.  Same for a coach and his players.

Memphis had its Final Four vacated when the Educational Testing Service reversed its certification of a player's SAT scores, two years after the fact, because the player did not respond to its suspicions.  It had no proof of cheating but because Rose didn't respond to its inquiry, it invalidated his test score and thus the NCAA had no choice but to decalre him ineligible.  Memphis was penalized for using an ineligible player, even though he was eligibloe at the time he played.  What I find strange is that no one has ever come forth with a reasonable explanation of why the test was questioned and examined by a hand-writing expert in the first place ( I wonder if Bruce Pearl was involved).

It's interesting that you use Roy Williams as your anti-Calipari when Williams has been cited and convicted by the NCAA of giving improper benefits while Calipari has never been even cited by the NCAA.  The NCAA went on the record in both the UMass and Memphis cases to specifically clear Calipari of any wrongdoing.

The reason I made the comment was to get a rise out of Kentucky fans.  You guys trip me out.  Big Blue Nation thinks that Basketball was invented in Lexington.  You play with fire you will get burned.  You hire coach Cal, you will get these darts thrown at you.
Well at least you're honest in stating your intentions and I applaud you for that.  I wish some of my fellow 'Cat fans would understand the truth behind your (and others) postings and not give you the satisfaction of getting under their skin.

The Big Blue Nation doesn't think basketball was invented in Lexington...it knows basketball was invented in Lexington.  We don't care who made up the rules for the game, all we know is UK took those rules and invented the way basketball should be played.

"You play with fire you will get burned."  Not if I'm playing with the dealing end of a flamethrower...you will get burned.

Finally, I'm sure you understand that the BBN had absolutely nothing to do with the hiring of Calipari, so why chastise us with your dissatisfaction?  I guess we should refer to your comments of just trying to get a rise and not expect any kind of resonable, fact-based discussion.

For staters it was a joke.  Secondly my name has nothing to do with the sorry Wildcats.  See my NBA team is the Bobcats and my NFL team is the Panthers.  I was doing a little combo.  Look Cal has 2 of his 3 final fours vacated.  Roy has been to 7 final fours and cut down the nets twice.  None are vacated.  Please take comments on here with a grain of salt.  The reason I made the comment was to get a rise out of Kentucky fans.  You guys trip me out.  Big Blue Nation thinks that Basketball was invented in Lexington.  You play with fire you will get burned.  You hire coach Cal, you will get these darts thrown at you.

Way to create an account to respond to my post.   That make me feel great!Wink

Jones returning to Kentucky; UNC fans in panic

Wow TarCats, such a reasonable response full of much factual evidence, LOL.

I love how if Cal is able to gets ONE of his Top 10 projected players to return for the first time in years, there must be some evil, dirty, cheating, money laundering scheme going on, but when Roy is able to cry on THREE of his lotto guys' mommas couches and beg them to return, that's "playing the game the right way" and "the Carolina Way" and "doing it with class."  Class is always the first thing I think of when I think of Crying Roy, like the class he showed by throwing a temper tantrum and demanding that the evil Prebyterian (yes, I said PRESBYTERIAN) fan be removed for saying "MISS IT!" while a UNC player was attempting a free throw.  Maybe your just worried that your "unbeatable" roster for next season has a little bit of competition now?  Just maybe.  Nah, that can't be it, it's gotta be Cal is dirty, and UK fans are evil.  That's always the excuse of opposing fans and the talking heads whenever UK is back on the national stage.  Keep telling yourself that Roy is clean and all class, and his players return for the love of the game and that great Carolina Way education, it just makes it all the more hilarious to the rest of us.

Jones returning to Kentucky

With Knitght staying in the draft Big Blue Nation was able to give Jones a pay raise.  With the NBA locking out then he standst to make more money playing in Lexington than in the lock-out.

How has Cal never won a title? He always has the best talent...oh yeah he can't coach a lick. But anyways, UK will be dominate next year and maybe Cal might get his title. But then it will probably be removed a few years later...

Jones returning to Kentucky

I think Jones is returning due to the fine academic tradition of UK, and really is motivated by the excellent education he is getting while there.  Cal has always primarily been interested in the future of his players outside/after pro basketball.  I'm guessing that Jones (and many of his teammates) were on the Dean's list, and he just can't pass up at least one more year of studies at the fine institution.

Jones returning to Kentucky

I have given this some thought. and what a bad decision Terrance Jones is making. He is going to be a profesional basketball player SOON. so why wait. you have a chance to be a top 15 pick with this year NBA draft. It is going to be one of the WEAKEST drafts of all time. Next year it will be loaded. so terrance jones. if your trying to get a college championship , then all I can say is good luck. but as a career choice. this one is probably a bad choice on your part.
