Super Fly, If I'm reading your comment correctly, by your math, a tougher schedule = better team.  Interesting, I wonder what Larry Bird's 1979 Indiana State team would say to that.  Just because a team doesn't play a tough schedule doesn't mean they are not any good.  You have to look at the team itself.  Why play the games, just get the team with the toughest schedule the Nat'l championship.

Thank you Gary for recognizing the nice year that programs like New Mexico and BYU and to certain extent Gonzaga are having this year by ranking them.

But thank you even more for not getting ridiculous and ranking them as high as the coaches and AP are ranking them.

I'm not saying that it is easy to run off 20+ wins or to dominate your conference, but there is no way that a team from the WCC or MWC or wherever has a tougher schedule than any team from the ACC, Big Ten, Big East, etc.  When you have to play Ohio State and Purdue within a week's span (i.e. Michigan St) you can't rank New Mexico, BYU, Gonzaga, etc. in the same way.

Seth Davis also had Purdue as #14, 2 weeks after they had lost their 3 straight and had since beaten Wisconsin and Illinois. The week before they were 16, beat Wisconsin and became 14.

Gary,

Seth Davis didn't rank Texas this week.  Is he smoking crack, using meth, or both?

GP, it is getting tougher every week, you may need to start a Top 25 (and 6).  March Madness is around the corner where they get to settle it on the court.  Can't wait.
NORTHERN IOWA 24-3, bad losses vs DePaul and Bradley.  Loss on the road to Wichita State.  Strengths:  Sr leadership, NCAA tournament experienced, can shoot the 3, very good defensively, very good FT shooting as a team. Should have not lost to Bradley or GP would have them ranked.
