The Naismith Trophy Preseason Watch List was announced Thursday morning.
It consists of 50 players, 44 of whom were on the initial ballot I filed (as one of six members of the Atlanta Tipoff Club's Board of Selectors). The players on the Preseason Watch List missing from my initial ballot are Patrick Christopher (California), Jerome Dyson (Connecticut), Jerome Jordan (Tulsa), Sylven Landesberg (Virginia), A.J. Ogilvy (Vanderbilt) and Edwin Ubiles (Siena). Instead, I had Kenny Boynton (Florida), DeMarcus Cousins (Kentucky), Wesley Johnson (Syracuse), E'Twaun Moore (Purdue), Lance Stephenson (Cincinnati) and Tyshawn Taylor (Kansas).

The Big 12 and SEC each had eight.
By class, it breaks down like this:
- Seniors: 19
- Juniors: 14
- Sophomores: 12
- Freshmen: 5
The list will be trimmed to 30 players in February.
It'll be narrowed to four finalists in March.

Just so we're clear, I didn't do the math.
It came straight from the announcement.
Either way, I wanted like eight freshmen on there.
I love em.
