Craig Brackins will return to Iowa State for his junior season, sources told CBSSports.com on Friday.

Brackins averaged 20.2 points and 9.5 rebounds at Iowa State this season.

DraftExpress.com had him slotted as the 19th pick in this NBA Draft, if he had declared.

Brackins will return to Iowa State

I am VERY shocked to see this report.   is a flat out STUD and I would not be suprised to see  in the preseason rankings next year.  The Big XII is going to be a GREAT league again next season... right up there with the Big East and ACC!

My very preseason Big XII top 5:

Iowa St. and  will be the most improved teams from last season!

Brackins will return to Iowa State

Congrats to the Cyclones! Brackins is an absolute beast. He nearly beat us single-handedly last year. His return is not only good for your program, but good for the Big XII as a whole. Kind of surprising to see him come back, as he looked like a lottery lock, but, oh well, it's always nice to see kids come back another year or two.

Brackins will return to Iowa State

Awesome news for the 'Clones; bad news for the rest of the Big XII!

Seriously though, this is great news for the conference. The Big XII may be the best in the nation next year with the great recruiting classes coming in and the return of all the big name players (excluding Griffin and possibly James from Texas).

Hopefully, the 'Clones will get some more publicity now. I don't think writers like Parrish, who have spent most of their time covering regional areas, understand how big basketball is at ISU. It's a basketball school, just look at attendance numbers. Despite being the 10th ranked team in the Big XII, ISU finished 3d in attendance. A&M and Texas have made many consecutive NCAA Tournaments (and in Texas' case a Final Four), but A&M has never surpassed ISU in attendance in the 12 + years in the league and Texas only this year and last year.

There's a market for ISU, with alums like me scattered all over the country (more than half ISU's alums live outside of Iowa), let's see some more publicity!! Need a game on CBS next year!

Brackins gets nowhere near enough attention

This is great news for the Big 12.  I'm a KU fan, but this kid can flat out play.  Where was he projected to go in the draft?  I'm kind of surprised he came back, with this being a weaker draft, but this is awesome for college basketball.

Brackins will return to Iowa State

I'd agree that it is good news for Iowa State.  Congratulations.  Maybe now the team can actually start to compete with other Big 12 schools.  I'd love to see the North gain some momentum (besides just Kansas).  I'm even a KU grad.  I actually didn't mind watching him play.  He is a true talent and it will be a lot of fun seeing him develop.  I'm a huge fan of kids coming back to school and staying committed to their program.
